Shape & Identification: The Dakshanavarti shankha opens to the right, distinguishing it from the common left-spiral (Vaamavarti) shankha. Natural varieties have a distinct, lustrous, and smooth white exterior.
Not for Blowing: This shankha is traditionally worshipped and placed on the altar, not used for blowing.
